BIM Coordinator

Project Overview:

• Support the delivery of the King Salman International Airport development in Riyadh, including new terminals and related airport infrastructure.

Role Summary:

• Implement BIM processes to support project delivery.
• Manage the cross-functional collaboration environment, including BIM/CAD model management, coordination, 4D/5D processes, and compliance with the Project BIM Management Plan.
• Support an innovative BIM culture across the project.

Major Responsibilities:

• Coordinate BIM activities including coordinate systems, standard templates, clash management, and design reviews across design subcontractors.
• Provide BIM production support to project teams and maintain the Common Data Environment, model federation, interference management, model coordination, and deliverable generation.
• Develop, communicate, and institutionalize standardized BIM workflows for design, construction, and project management stakeholders.
• Develop BIM and 3D model health-check processes against project requirements.
• Maintain the project Exchange Information Requirements for flow-down to the supply chain.
• Train project delivery teams on the CDE and associated BIM workflows.
• Develop interoperable BIM/CAD and GIS workflows for construction, safety, sustainability, and permitting processes.
• Assess implementation of the BIM Execution Plan and compliance with the project execution strategy.
• Capture lessons learned and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support BIM coordinators at third-party engineering consultants, design firms, and subcontractors.
• Participate in BIM training, development, knowledge sharing, and lessons-learned activities.
• Integrate BIM and 3D models with schedules to generate 4D construction simulations.
• Integrate BIM and 3D models with quantity take-off templates for construction progress tracking and reporting.
• Ensure project information requirements and industry standards, including ISO 19650, are met.
• Support design and construction reviews, manage issue/action logs, and facilitate job-site BIM discussions.
• Develop standard processes for model-based design quantity take-offs, construction quantity reporting, and forecasting.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent, or relevant work experience with 5+ years in a BIM role.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in a project delivery environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain BIM/CIM and technology solutions to engineering and construction professionals.
• Experience facilitating meetings and client-facing presentations.

Required Skills:

• Experience capturing lessons learned and implementing improved workflows.
• Experience creating and maintaining federated models throughout the project lifecycle.
• Experience with single- and multi-discipline design coordination.
• Experience performing clash and coordination detection and reporting model coordination issues.
• Experience conducting model audits and liaising with client BIM managers.
• Experience supporting design and construction reviews and managing issue/action logs.
• Willingness to visit job sites to facilitate BIM discussions and execution.
