Senior GIS/CAD Technician

Role Overview:

• Lead GIS activities and provide specialist geospatial support across the project.
• Develop, manage, and maintain project GIS databases and geodatabases.
• Support infrastructure, airport, airfield, transportation, utilities, and multidisciplinary construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, process, validate, analyze, and visualize spatial data.
• Maintain accurate GIS layers for infrastructure, utilities, buildings, roads, pavements, drainage, and other assets.
• Integrate survey, CAD, BIM, GPS, satellite, drone, and field data into GIS platforms.
• Ensure spatial information is correctly georeferenced and aligned with approved project coordinate systems.
• Review GIS data for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.
• Establish GIS data standards, naming conventions, metadata, and data structures.
• Perform spatial analysis supporting engineering, construction, planning, logistics, and asset management activities.
• Develop and maintain GIS maps, drawings, dashboards, and visualization products.
• Coordinate with Survey teams on survey control, coordinates, benchmarks, and spatial datasets.
• Coordinate with BIM teams to integrate BIM models and GIS datasets where required.
• Support integration between GIS, BIM, CAD, CDE, and asset management systems.
• Perform data conversion between GIS, CAD, and engineering formats.
• Manage geospatial data imports, exports, editing, cleaning, and transformation.
• Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, duplication, and spatial conflicts.
• Conduct GIS quality assurance and implement corrective actions.
• Support automated GIS workflows and data management processes.
• Provide technical guidance to junior GIS staff and project teams.
• Prepare GIS reports, maps, dashboards, and technical presentations.
• Maintain GIS registers, data inventories, issue logs, and data quality reports.
• Support digital handover and asset information requirements.
• Maintain GIS information through design, construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Develop and maintain GIS datasets for airport terminals, airfield facilities, runways, taxiways, aprons, roads, utilities, drainage, and external infrastructure.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geomatics, Surveying, Geography, Civil Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in GIS, geospatial information management, infrastructure mapping, or digital engineering.
• Experience working on major infrastructure, airport, transportation, utilities, or multidisciplinary construction projects.
• Advanced proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, or equivalent GIS platforms.
• Strong knowledge of geodatabases, spatial analysis, data management, and GIS visualization.
• Experience with CAD and engineering data integration, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D, is highly desirable.
